The history of The White Rock Traditional Jazz Society dates back to its establishment in 1990 to encourage and promote the performance of New Orleans and Traditional styles of jazz in the White Rock/South Surrey area of British Columbia, Canada.

We present live jazz every Sunday afternoon from September to April and we close the season with a day-long minifest. Red Beans & Rice usually plays on the first Sunday of the month and you can hear other regular guest bands on the remaining Sundays. We usually close our Sunday sessions with a New Orleans-style umbrella parade. We also have raffles and occasionally a boogie woogie piano spot at intermission.

The majority of Club events are held at our 'home', Legion 240 at 2643 128th Street in South Surrey, a non-smoking and air-conditioned facility, just a 10-minute drive from the Canada/US border, 30 minutes to the Vancouver Island ferries, 45 minutes from Vancouver International Airport, and 45 minutes to Vancouver.

Club members and visitors are always welcome. If you enjoy your visit to our Club, we hope you will join us, bring your friends and help keep this wonderful music alive for generations to come.
